At the 2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala held at Alexandria Ballrooms in Los Angeles, Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy wore colour co-ordinated outfits. The event was hosted by Queen Bey’s mother Tina Knowles and her stepdad, Richard Lawson. The singer was seen with husband Jay-Z at the event. She was honoured for her humanitarian work at the Gala.
The dress that was donned by the singer has an Indian connect. It is a custom-made piece designed by Indian designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock for the Gala themed ‘From Waco to Wakanda’. Beyonce turned heads at the event in a mermaid silhouette, see-through fabric featured with geometric gold embellishments all-over. The bottom of the dress was puffed and furled like a metallic flower with a dramatic train. They worked with Beyonce’s stylist Marni Senofonte to create such an iconic look.
The fierce and powerful look grabbed the attention of the people and the metallic cutouts on the dress resembled an armour. The designer duo has worked with the designer before as well. They were behind the designer’s black gown in her ‘Formation’ video.
