With stars like Sushmita Sen, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kangana Ranaut, gracing the ramp, the Lakme Fashion Week was nothing short of a walk of glam!
Teaming up with the who’s who of the glam world, the Lakme Fashion Week opened up its gate for various experimental designers to showcase the stories that drive their designs. Here’s a look-back at all the stars who added a bling to the glam fest!
Kareena Kapoor Khan:
Donning a modern-age saree paired up with a a pair of pants and corset belt, Kareena Kapoor Khan was the showstopper for Anamika Khanna’s collection. She was oozing confidence as she breathed life to this “Reinventing Nudes” look!
Talking about the evolution of fashion, she said, “whether in terms of films or in an actor’s personal life, fashion is a top-priority. In films, it’s different because we’re playing different characters and all actors are playing different roles- so the costumes make a character come alive.”
Kangana walked in style for designer duo Shyamal and Bhumika. She wore a cream-coloured gown with a long train. She was the showstopper for their “Wonderland by Shayamal and Bhumika” collection.
Talking about her experience, she opens up to media and says, “In my professional career, I didn’t have any such feelings. I am not here to be friends with everyone and won’t get into their personal space either. I am a very professional person and a career-oriented woman. I won’t compromise on my opportunity. I will be out there. I will get what I deserve.”
The ever-so-elegant Sushmita Sen walked down to the tunes of Umrao Jaan’s song, “In aankhon ki masti”, donning a lehenga choli with dual dupattas by Meera and Muzaffar Ali.
She told media reporters, “I have many things to do. I have to do a film with which I can take a bow. I would like to give back all the love… I owe it to the people who love me. It doesn’t matter if they are five or five thousand. I have to do a film for them and make sure that it’s a huge hit. I’m taking my time but I’ll do it.”
Wearing Anushree Reddy’s vintage pink lehenga, the sportsperson turned showstopper looked every bit stunning as she walked down the ramp at the Lakme event.
“To be honest, I don’t really understand much about fashion. I’m lucky to be blessed with a good team of stylists and designer friends…I remind myself that I have to step outside my comfort zone, and I like doing that. That’s why I agree to walk the ramp at this show, too,” she told media.
Sridevi and Janhvi Kapoor:
Actress Sridevi and her daughter Janhvi Kapoor managed to garner all the praises without actually walking on the ramp. Dressed in Anamika Khanna outfits, the mother-daughter duo were giving everyone major goals with their dazzling looks.
