The Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air recently unveiled that it plans to launch routes to North American cities in 2023. Currently Gulf Air code shares for services from London, Paris and Frankfurt to New York, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles and Durham with American Airlines and vice versa for trips from the European cities to Bahrain.
As Gulf Air entered a new phase of development recently, it has announced a 360-degree strategic review to bring the Gulf island kingdom more business and tourism. The airline is due to take delivery of 39 new aircraft, with the start of 787-9 deliveries.
In 2018, 5 787-9’s and a pair of A320neo’s will begin the fleet renewal. It plans to fly the 787-9 aircraft to London Heathrow, Casablanca and Bangkok. The Bahraini flag carrier has launched eight new destinations in 2018, which includes Calicut and Bengaluru in India, Abha and Tabuk in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sharm El Sheikh and Alexandria in Egypt, Baku in Azerbaijan and Casablanca in Morocco. Currently it flies to 49 cities in 26 countries and it aims to fly to 60 destinations by 2023.
