Eight years and four closing shows…celebrity designer Manish Malhotra surely is the blue-eyed boy of India Couture Week (ICW) 2017. This year, as the much-awaited fashion event completes 10 years, Malhotra will furnish it with a befitting grand finale by showcasing his latest collection at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
Not much is known about the collection yet and the designer is being quite hush-hush about his showstopper too. But he is happy to be a part of ICW 2017. Says Malhotra, “I’ve been a part of India Couture Week for eight years now, and am excited about my show as it’s the fourth time I will be closing for the event. It will be a stellar event and will present my label’s new design direction through the lens of couture. Also, 2017 is a special year for the label as we complete 12 years with a robust expansion plan underway. By the end of the year we will open a flagship store in Delhi spread over almost 15,000 sq ft, becoming the largest standalone Indian designer store.”
Speaking about the event, FDCI president, Sunil Sethi says, “Manish Malhotra is an ideal choice as he brings with him a wealth of experience, the innate ability to dazzle and an understanding of crafts. The closing show will be the culmination of a week-long celebration of Indian couture and there is no one better to give us a befitting end.”
