Super-star Priyanka Chopra is super busy sharing the screen with Hollywood’s biggest television and movie stars!
Sundance is an annual film festival hosted by Park City, Utah which sees a turn-up of around 47,000 attendees every year. This year, the festival started on 18th January and will continue till 28th of this month. From John Legend to Jane Fonda and Hilary Swank, celebrities flood this festival in large numbers.
This year, one of our favourite star also made it to the festival! It was none other than Priyanka Chopra who is basking in the glory of the largest independent film festival of the US. It is no news that Piggy Chops is now a global star and has already worked with some of the biggest filmmakers in the industry. From playing the lead role in Quantico to her famed work in Baywatch, this global starlet is making waves on the big screen.
Now, she has bagged another big Hollywood offer, A Kid Like Jane. Directed by Silas Howard, A Kid Like Jake is based on a play by Daniel Pearle and will bring together Jim Parson, Claire Danes, Octavia Spencer and Priyanka Chopra in the same frame. The film is scheduled to be premiered at the festival tomorrow.

This UNICEF Ambassador and internationally acclaimed actress has also been talking extensively about social issues and the problems faced by women in the film industry. Recently, she gave an inspirational lecture titled “breaking the glass ceiling”, at the 11th edition of prestigious Penguin Annual Lecture.
Another noteworthy contribution by this International artist is her film production company Purple Pebble Pictures that promotes small budget films and new talents. Founded in 2015, this production house is one of the many achievements Priyanka has to her credit. Her production banner is rolling out various regional films, one after the other. It regional production Sarvann (a Punjabi film) also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi.
An enlightening discussion with Dr. Yasmin Ali Haque, Representative, UNICEF India, and Avantika and Simran, two amazing and bright adolescent girls who have been doing some amazing things. Simran fought for her right to an education amidst much adversity from her family. This spirited child ensured that she continued her education. We discussed giving voices, platforms and equal opportunities to all adolescents. To give them a chance to express what they want to do and to demand their basic rights like education. While Priyanka has moved away from Bollywood films and is presently featuring only in Hollywood films, her production house continues to focus on regional films. Her latest project is a marathi film, Firebrand, which will be directed by National Film Award winner Arunaraje Patil. The story-line will cover contemporary relationships and will star Girish Kulkarni, Usha Jadhav, Sachin Khedekar and Rajeshwari Sachdev.
