There will be lights, hundreds of cameras and plenty of stupendous, action-packed performances. Yes! The biggest celebration of Indian cinema is here and we can’t be more stoked to see our favourite stars together. And this time, the festivities will be held at the Siam Niramit Theatre in Thailand, the country that hosted the eighth edition of the awards in 2008.
“IIFA is more than an just an award show recognising the best of Indian cinema. It is a platform that empowers us as a film fraternity and cements us as a bonafide film fraternity. What began as a one-night event has snowballed into an entire weekend of fun, activities, music and bonding,” said Karan Johar, introducing the 19th edition of the awards at a event in Delhi.
The IIFA weekend will kick start on June 21 with an exhibition, which will continue for two days before an auction of never-before-seen memorabilia from the sets of classic Indian movies. The celebrations will move on with IIFA Rocks and culminate with the green carpet event on June 24.
