Entrepreneurial exes bring their baggage — emotional and literal — to a shop in Hanoi to find a new home for items they can no longer bear to look at.
There are many ways to get rid of the stuff given by your exes. You could throw it in the bin, give it away or even burn it, just for kicks. But a more creative way to dispose of them is by giving them away at this shop in Hanoi, Vietnam and make a few extra bucks on your next trip to this picturesque country.
Incidentally, there is a market in the capital city of Vietnam which has quickly become the OLX for ex-lovers. Known as the Old Flames Market, that started back in February, has quickly gained popularity with people from all over the country, especially the youth. The market was started by Dinh Thang after a few of his own bitter breakups that left him with unwanted paraphernalia from a now extinguished passion.
Meanwhile, potential travellers turned customers peruse love letters and pick through perfumes, candles and clothes — relics from failed relationships put on sale by forlorn lovers. If and when an item is sold, Thang transfers the money to the person who left it there with after keeping a cut for himself.
The market has been such a hit that Thang is already planning open another such market in Vietnam’s commercial capital Ho Chi Minh City by next year.
