Thanks to movie buffs in China, we now know what would happen when the who’s who of the Mahishmati kingdom enter the Marvel universe
Imagine a scenario where your favourite Marvel characters such as the Iron Man and Thanos meet Baahubali and Shivagami! Can’t wrap your head around it? We couldn’t either, till we came across these incredibly hilarious memes by the users of WeChat based in China.
Baahubali 2 and Avengers Infinity War released on the same week in China and the movie geeks could keep no calm! They seized on it and managed to create a mashup of the Baahubali world with that of the Marvel universe, which became an instant hit on social media.
These side-splitting memes were first brought into notice by Sutirtho Patranobis, associate editor at Hindustan Times in Beijing. He tweeted: “Chinese WeChat users (used by nearly 1 billion) are having good time with Baahubaali 2 and Avengers memes. In one, Baahubali admires Black Panther’s abs, in another Falcon admires Devasena’ eye makeup.”

The Disney-Marvel film, ‘Avengers Infinity War’, has already set a record for being the fastest film to cross the $1 billion mark worldwide. With actors like Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Drowney Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo playing the much loved Marvel heroes, the movie has managed to bring to screen the ultimate showdown of all time.
While our home-grown magnum opus, Baahubali series, has become the highest grossing Indian film and the second highest grossing film worldwide (source: TOI). Capitalising on the popularity of this blockbuster hit, a youtube channel had earlier shared a video collating scenes from Bahubali and Avengers to show “Baahubali have similar action scenes from Avengers and other Marvel’s movies.”
