The wait is over guys. Ethan Hunt, aka Tom Cruise, is back! And this time he has brought the entire Mission Impossible Force (MIF) team with him. We just saw the trailer of the sixth Mission Impossible film, Mission Impossible: Fallout, and we cant wait for July 27 (when the movie hits theatres)!
Death-defying stunts, high-octane action sequences, even hanging from a cliff – you name it and Cruise’s roguish Hunt does it all – effortlessly, with style. And in case you’ve been under a rock and haven’t caught the trailer yet (which we highly recommend you do right away), allow us to give you a lowdown on what it’s all about and also our honest opinion of it.
To begin with, Cruise is not the only one you will be feasting your eyes on in the movie. A handsome, mustachioed Henry Cavill is something to look out for! It was quite refreshing to see the actor away from Superman’s shadow. Cavill plays August Walker, a government agent on a mission to end Hunt and his team to contain the impact of a failed mission.
According to the storyline, Hunt and his team will be facing the consequences of a mission gone terribly wrong. It looks like Hunt’s actions in the past few missions seem to have finally caught up with him and for the first time he finds himself truly alone. Even his ally, Ilsa Faust (played by Rebecca Ferguson) from Rogue Nation becomes his worst enemy.
Like every Mission Impossible movie, director Christopher McQuarrie has managed to pack action-packed stunts and sequences, and Cruise has clearly pushed his limits with the stunts in this movie resulting in an injury that delayed the production by a short while. According to Variety, it happened while the actor was performing a stunt where he had to jump between two buildings. He missed, which was the point, but during one of the takes, he missed his landing and broke his ankle. You can catch a glimpse of this particular shot in the trailer.
Overall, the 2.33-min trailer is a rapid montage of Cruise performing rigorous stunts, including scaling a cliff wall, crashing a car and climbing up a rope to a flying helicopter. To tell you the truth, it doesn’t matter much who steals the scene or how many nail-biting moments there are in the movie, whether or not Walker is successful in his mission or whether Hunt will survive…we are just in it for Cruise! What can we say? We just love him.
